6 big DJs, 1 Big Reunion!

Remember K Bar, Opera House, Maddisons and The Venue? Yes, us Bournemouth veterans have long memories and many quirky stories of days and nights out around town over the past three decades.

We’re so happy that the biggest and best DJs are still going strong. And we are even happier that Canvas are reuniting six of the best on Friday November 3.

Martyn ‘the Hat’, Gary Allen, Kevin Scott, Dat Man Artwell, Jay Rachett and Paul Brady will take turns on the decks across two rooms of music: The Fusion Room & The Main Dance Room. Fancy dress is optional: personally, I have a few outfits from the late 1990s I’m fortunate enough to still squeeze into, thanks to early morning bootcamps and lots of yoga.

Tickets cost from £10 online or £15 on the door, on the night.

“We’ve spent months trying to find a night that all six of these DJs are free on the same night for a back to back gig, as promised,” said co-owner James Maidment.

The end of October marks Canvas’s second anniversary in what is frequently becoming known as Bournemouth’s ‘Soho’ quarter – The Triangle.

The Culture Trip (two million readers globally) recently named Canvas one of the top five new businesses in the area.

The magazine also feted Koh Thai Tapas, Flirt Cafe Bar, Espresso Kitchen and the new Steamhouse Brewery, which is due to open next month.

They said: “Bournemouth’s only loft bar boasts cool cocktails, a classy crowd and frequent live music events featuring the likes of Craig Charles, as well as the finest local DJS and bands. We love Saturday nights, which are currently headlined by local legend Martyn T Hat.”
