Years and Years have stormed the music scene since arriving in 2012. It’s fair to say Bournemouth welcomed them with open arms!

The crowd was treated to an opening from Mabel and MØ who certainly managed get things going. MØ finished up her support slot with her well known Diplo collaboration, Lean On which got the whole of the BIC singing and dancing.

Years and Years began with bass-heavy ‘Communion’ opening track, Foundation. Accompanied by one of the most astonishing light shows and sets, Olly Alexander took to the stage. Stood front and centre surrounded by laser beams, he sung out to a field of screaming fans.

Alexander didn’t lose energy once during the gig and exuded confidence and love for what he was doing throughout.

There were some well-known covers thrown in including a unique twist on hotline bling, and collaboration with MØ for Brandy & Monica classic, The Boy Is Mine.

Highlights included Shine, Desire and of course King which the band headlined with. Not that it needs reaffirming but Years and Years have no doubt made it, and have a huge career ahead of them.

Bournemouth definitely look forward to a return concert!
