Photos: Steamhouse Rock Nights present Guns 2 Roses and Motor Lizzy
Steamhouse Rock Nights launched their 2018 season in style at Canvas Bournemouth last month, with the UK’s premier Guns N Roses tribute act, Guns 2 Roses. They were ably supported by Motor Lizzy on a night that blew away the January blues.
More Steamhouse dates have been announced on the Canvas website. Acts covering Nirvana, The Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi and other rock gods are planned for the rest of the year.
Promoter Jeff Keenan has been running the rocking nights for decades and DJs himself on the night – he knows what tunes fill the dancefloor and contribute to the unique Steamhouse vibe.
Drinks deals and dancers complete the night, with Steamhouse’s very own IPA available on tap.
“The Steamhouse music is, and always will be big commercial catchy rock anthems that everyone loves and wants to sing out loud. We also give you the chance to make complete fools of yourselves along with being able to make a fool of me, as I don’t take myself seriously. Plus, having customers that totally “get” what we are about,” he said.
Steamhouse first brought its unique night to Canvas in July last year. Prior to that, they sold out regular nights at Inferno and other top rock venues across Bournemouth and Boscombe.
“From my point of view (the first night) was a major success,” Jeff said. “From the way the club’s management looked after not only me but every aspect of the night to both the bands we chose, and the crowd.”
