Festival fashion: what to wear

Festival season is almost upon us and that means a mad dash to the shops for wellies, tents and all the essential paraphernalia for three days in a field. But don’t forget to add a touch of glamour with festival fashion and some bling-tastic accessories.

This summer, we’re all about florals, floating kimonos and statement necklaces. Our go-to labels are Joe Browns and Weird Fish. The Weird Fish Zita Kimono, pictured, is now reduced to £45 and will see us through the entire summer. It’s the ideal beach cover-up as well as a festival essential. Layer over a basic vest and denim shorts for instant glamour, or add to a maxi dress when you are floating around Glastonbury.

Bum bags are back and Joe Browns’ version, £12.95, will keep all your essentials safe while you bounce from tent to tent.

Wellies are essential, of course, and we are torn. We love the classic Hunters on sale at Charles Clinkard (also available in purple, £80); but the funky Millbry Hill Joules (available in two prints) and Weird Fish Sazis really stand out and it’s nice to be original. Maybe we’ll just buy all three…

But thinking positive, we’re buying sandals too. Birkenstocks won’t rub your feet as you trek from tent to stage. Another investment buy that will last you years. The pink Sydney ones pictured are available at Charles Clinkard, £59.95.

In terms of accessories, we will be packing lightweight necklaces from Joe Browns and lots of bangles.

Camping essentials – save money on dodgy burger bans by bringing your own BBQ. Versatile and lightweight, Annabel James’s suitcase BBQ, £54.95, is ideal for camping or festivals alike. It comes emblazoned with the words “The Adventure Begins”. www.annabeljames.co.uk is an online boutique that sells home and garden accessories and gorgeous gifts, be sure to check it out.

Sip your spirits in style with a hip flask. The Moustache Club brings you this lusciously brushed steel hip flask, featuring a sexy moustache print. Even the most dapper of men will need this flask to get by at parties or festivals. If you’re looking for that perfect gift for your boyfriend? Look no further, ladies and gents! $24, Yellow Octopus.
