Staff, residents and loved ones enjoyed a summery yet safe beach party, with family members logging in online to raise everyone’s spirits.
Meyrick Care Home on Branksome Wood Road were supported by their brave care team, who provided made sure residents were supplied with sun cream, beach towels, sunglasses, and sun hats as they spent the day relaxing with cocktails and enjoying the care home’s new bubble machine.
The residents played beach ball and channelled their inner creativity as they built sandcastles, whilst others took it in turns to dip their toes in the paddling pool. The care team and residents dined ‘al fresco’ and enjoyed the beautiful Bournemouth sunshine in the care home’s gardens as they feasted on a picnic.
Sally Harrison-Exton, Group Head of Product Development, Four Seasons Health Care Group, said, “It is extremely important now more than ever to keep our residents’ spirits high and for them to continue engaging with the team and their fellow residents.
“These are extraordinary times; our residents are unable to receive visits from their loved ones. So aside from our core focus of keeping them as safe and as healthy as we can, our biggest goal is to keep a sense of joy within the care homes. We want to want ensure this time is as comfortable as it can be.”
