AFC Bournemouth beat Huddersfield Town
We don’t normally write about football but… We are over the moon that local lads AFC Bournemouth have kicked off the season in stunning style with a four-nil win away at Huddersfield Town. A goal from Marc Pugh after 26 seconds and a Callum Wilson debut double, plus one goal from Yann Kermorgant, meant the game was all but over after 50 minutes as the Cherries coasted to victory.
Below is some reaction from the Twitter-verse – if you can’t make it to all the Bournemouth games, Twitter is a great place to find out the scores first and banter with the opposition.
If you are looking to go out tonight to celebrate this epic win – and do pass on the invitation to the fabulous Cherries team – we recommend starting at Smokin’ Aces before heading to The Winchester.
Smokin’ Aces is a little tiny but one of our favourite late-night bars. You can expect stunning service, a series of expertly crafted cocktails and lots of unusual whiskeys and bourbons to try – we are on a mission to try them all. Dafu & Cursa will be providing funky beats to start your Saturday in style.
After that, the fun(k) continues at The Winchester, where it’s a Ghetto Jam summer spectacular. It features all your funky favourites – Cockney Nutjob, Bubaking, DAFU & DJ CURSA, alongside DJ Sensible and The Kurnel MC.
What we love about Ghetto Jam is the mix of fresh flavours and old-school classics. It’s all genres with a touch of funk so expect hip hop, big beat, breakbeat, jungle, even funky drum and bass.

I think this might be the highest position that #afcb have ever been in their history? 21st in the football pyramid. If so, fantastic.
