Free festive films for Christmas family fun

Christmas is all about spending time with family, friends and loved ones. It can prove to be expensive but luckily Poole’s town’s Business Improvement District is hosting a series of festive movie nights to accompany late night shopping.

The big screen is located outside in the Sainsbury’s plaza, with hot drinks and snacks available to purchase during the film nights.

All the films are suitable for all ages and a great way to round off a day of Christmas shopping – which, let’s face it, can be stressful at times. Relax with a hot chocolate and popcorn and get into the festive spirit! It’s also a great way to support Poole businesses and bring more footfall to the town at this most wonderful time of the year.

Justin Hundley-Appleton, Poole BID manager, said: “We’ve got a great line-up of family favourites for the rest of the month. It was great to see people turn out to our first night of showings and taking a break from their Christmas shopping – despite the rain we managed to go ahead with both showings.”

The December line up is as follows:

Nativity!, Thursday, December 13, 5.30pm
Santa Claus: The Movie, Thursday, December 13, 7.30pm
The Polar Express, Thursday, December 20, 5.30pm
Happy Feet, Thursday, December 20, 7.30pm

Fact file

Poole’s Christmas activity is funded and organised by Poole BID and its levy-paying high street businesses. Visit or follow Poole BID on social media for more information.

Booking for the outdoor screen is not required; however, space is available on a first come, first served basis.
